Data Expedition's CloudDat Super Charges Data Transport for the World's Leading Cloud Platforms

Designed to meet 21st-century network demands, CloudDat accelerates cloud workflows by ensuring full utilization of network infrastructure

LAS VEGAS (NAB Show) - April 24, 2017 - In a move to eliminate the frustration that comes with messy workflow disruptions and slow, unreliable data migrations to the cloud, Data Expedition, Inc.® (DEI®), a quiet software company with more than 200 global customers, today announced the launch of CloudDat, its high-performance software for data transport to and from the cloud designed to meet 21st-century networking demands.

By utilizing the full potential of each data path, CloudDat moves data faster than traditional transport software - up to 900mb/s per instance - and more cost effectively than other commercial network acceleration software. Already, CloudDat is available to transfer data into and out of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud.

Features include:

  • Rapid deployment
  • Easy-to-use clients
  • Powerful workflow integration
  • In-transit encryption
  • Subscription and perpetual licensing available
  • No charges per gigabyte, per line speed, or per client seat
  • Free trial with full capabilities

The Data Expedition team is exhibiting at the NAB Show, Las Vegas Convention Center in Oracle Booth #SL8011, through April 27.

CloudDat runs on DEI's patented Multipurpose Transaction Protocol® (MTP™/IP), a modern transport protocol designed for modern IP networks. MTP moves data faster by making the network itself more efficient, and with the skyrocketing dependence on cloud deployments, MTP is poised to become the critical transport mechanism behind a vast amount of network data transfer. Unlike any other data transport technology, including the traditional Transmission Control Protocol (TCP/IP) that was developed in the mid-1970s, MTP has the following features:

  • Efficient across the full spectrum of network speeds and data sizes with room to grow
  • Automatically adjusts to new and changing environments in milliseconds
  • No end-user setup for easy deployment
  • No IT tuning for low cost of maintenance

"The cloud can't start working for you until you get your data in, and what you do there doesn't matter until you get your results out," said Seth Noble, Ph.D., DEI's founder and CEO. "CloudDat accelerates cloud workflows by making those critical data transfer steps faster and more reliable."

As a pure software solution, CloudDat can be deployed alongside traditional applications without changing or disrupting existing networks. Easy-to-use, FTP-like user interfaces and generous client licensing make CloudDat a quick way to super charge data intensive cloud workflows.

DEI, founded by Dr. Noble in 2000, provides high-performance data transport solutions across many industries for leading companies, including Amagi, Associated Press, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, The Walt Disney Company, Lockheed Martin, Proctor & Gamble, Ricoh, and the United States Air Force, to name a few. Although industry agnostic, CloudDat is a valuable solution for file transport to the cloud for media and entertainment, life sciences, legal, oil and gas, government, and for IT managers and consultants.
