Choosing the Right Package

SyncDat is distributed in separate package files for each supported platform.  The minimum supported operating systems for each package are listed below.

win64 Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008R2, and all later versions, running on an x86_64 or compatible 64-bit processor.  Requires a 64-bit Windows system.
osx macOS 10.12 or later.
linux64 Linux kernel 3.10 or later with glibc 2.17 or later on an x86_64 (64-bit) or compatible processor.
solx86_64  Solaris 10 on an x86_64 (64-bit only) compatible processor.
FreeBSD FreeBSD 11 or later on an amd64 or x86_64 compatible processor.

Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD require PAM libraries to use System Authentication.

For more information about support on these and other platforms, see Tech Note 0004.

For a discussion of recommended hardware see Tech Note 0023.

Trials vs Purchases

Packages with names ending in "-T" contain trials.  Trial executables will only run for a limited time and must be replaced after they expire.  Purchased software is packaged with names ending in "-P".  Purchased software is customized for the organization which holds the license and may behave differently than the trials or software purchased by a different organization.  When you purchase software after using a trial, you must replace the trial clients and servers by installing the purchased software.

If you are seeing "License Expired" errors, then you are running a trial executable or term licensed server that has expired.  You must re-install the software executable with either a fresh trial or a current purchase to continue using it.  Purchased software is obtained from the customer download site.  Only the administrators for DEI software at an organization have access to the download site.  If you are not an administrator, contact an administrator to obtain the latest software.

See Tech Note 0012 for tips and troubleshooting steps about updating DEI software packages.
