Host Groups

SyncDat synchronizes exactly one local folder with exactly one remote folder.  The date of the last scan is recorded by the IP address and port number of the server.

If two servers share the same back-end storage, you must either restrict SyncDat to accessing only one of them, or target both at once in a host group.

When targeting a host group, the first host listed is the "Key Server".  Last scan information will be recorded under that server's IP address and port number.  The Key Server must always be first in the host group list, and a DNS failure of the Key Server will prevent syncdat from continuing.
