Running as a Ping Server
If you wish to test connectivity without running other MTP/IP applications, you can run mtping in “server” mode:
mtping -s <port>
When run like this, the program will listen for ACT_PING and ACT_IDSTR requests on the given port number. For each request received, it will print out information about the request, and send back an appropriate response.
