Elapsed Time Testing (Not Available for Windows)

On unix systems, you can specify a number of seconds to run the test, rather than trying to guess how many bytes are needed.  To use elapsed time mode, add “-e” to the command line specify a count of seconds instead of bytes.  This is the preferred method of testing, but is not supported in Windows:

host-13: lclient -e -t california.mtpip.net 10 Received 2741064 TCP bytes in 10.00 seconds (2141.2 kbits/s)   host-14: lclient -e -m california.mtpip.net 10 Received 5705076 MTP bytes in 10.00 seconds (4457.1 kbits/s)

To ensure accurate results, be sure to specify time interval that is at least ten seconds and repeat the tests several times.  Using more and longer tests will provide more accurate results.
