Starting a Test Server

To use MTPtestGUI, you need a server and a client machine.  On the server side, you can run mtptest, lserve, or another MTPtestGUI.  These programs will listen for MTP and TCP connections and service any test requests they receive.  While MTPtestGUI is servicing a test for a remote client, the status message in the upper right will read “Remote Testing” and the dialog box will be disabled.

Note that MTPtestGUI uses UDP and TCP ports 8082.  If your network configuration requires you to use a different port, run mtptest or lserve, which allow you to listen on any port.
