HGclient

This is the HyperGate Client which runs on or near your client workstations.  By default HGclient waits for connections from web browsers on TCP port 8088.  It can then pass along these requests to HGserver using the high-performance MTP/IP protocol. HGserver will then pass the request to a standard web server.

For HGclient to do its job, the web browser needs to be told to redirect requests to the hgclient process, instead of talking directly to the webserver. This can be accomplished by using HyperGate URLs when linking to specific documents, or by configuring the web browser to use hgclient as a proxy server.

This chapter contains detailed instructions for executing and configuring the hgclient program.  Refer to the earlier Software Setup chapter for instructions on initial installation of the software.
