HTML Error Messages
If the HyperGate software is unable to initiate a transaction, it will attempt to report an error message to the browser. Most such messages provide a brief explanation of what has happened and may offer troubleshooting tips. The last line of a HyperGate HTML error message identifies which component is reporting the error and provides version and license information which will be needed when seeking support from DEI. For example:
MTP found a problem:
The transaction timed out.
Check that the address is correct and that hgserver is running there.
HyperGate / hgclient - 1.6.0 Apr 2006 - DEI (DocExch v1.7.11) (MTP v3.11.9) Unconfigured
Internet Explorer "Friendly HTTP Error Messages"
By default, Internet Explorer may not display HTML error messages. To see them, you may need to use a different browser, or follow these steps:
From Explorer’s “Tools” menu, select “Internet Options”.
Click on the “Advanced” tab, then scroll down a few lines to “Show friendly HTTP error messages”.
Uncheck (disable) “Show friendly HTTP error messages”.
If a transaction fails only after partially completing, then refer to the logs for HGclient and HGserver to determine the cause.
