mtping Test Utility

This command line utility queries a network address to retrieve version and status information from servedat or any other MTP/IP application.  It can also be used to diagnose a variety of network issues.

Its usage is similar to the standard unix "ping" command.

mtping <address>[:port]

If no UDP port is given, number 8080 (the default for ExpeDat and SyncDat) will be used.

In addition to end-user diagnostics, mtping can be run in scripted or embedded environments.  The Response Output option provides results in a machine parseable format for easy automation.  For example, the Web Dashboard provides a web-based graphical wrapper around mtping.
