Choosing the Right Package

ExpeDat is distributed in separate package files for each supported platform.  For each system where you will be installing ExpeDat, download or copy the package that most closely matches that system’s operating system and hardware:

win32 Windows NT5, 2000, 2003, XP, and Vista running on an x86 or compatible processor.
darwin Mac OS X 10.4 or later running on a PowerPC or Intel processor.
linux Linux kernel 2.4 on an x86 or compatible processor.
FreeBSD FreeBSD 4.x or later on an x86 or compatible processor.
NetBSD NetBSD 3.0 or later on an x86 or compatible processor.
solaris Solaris 8 on an UltraSparc processor.
solx86 Solaris 10 on an x86 processor.
irix SGI IRIX 6.5 on a MIPS64 processor.
hpux HP-UX 11.11 (11i) on a PA-RISC compatible processor.
ia64 This is a special build for Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems running Itanium 64 processors.  Use this if the linux build produces an error like "Must patch for Red Hat Bugzilla bug 144108, or request MTP build ia64".

Packages are formatted as gzip'd tar archives or ZIP archives, depending on the platform.  Windows users may need additional software, such as Aladdin's Stuffit Expander, for unpacking.
