Why should I use ExpeDat?
Thanks to the MTP/IP technology, ExpeDat can transfer files many times faster and more reliably than FTP.  The ExpeDat server is also much easier to use than most conventional FTP servers, allowing you to begin serving files immediately with zero configuration.

Should I compress my data first?
Reducing the size of data you transfer will reduce the time it takes to transfer.  ExpeDat can automatically apply zlib compression to your data while it is in transit, saving you the compression and decompression steps.  You can also configure servedat to use third-party compression utilities to automatically package and compress files as they are requested.  Note that data which is already compressed, encrypted, or encoded will not benefit from further compression and doing so may reduce performance.

Does ExpeDat work with regular FTP apps?
No, ExpeDat uses MTP/IP rather than the TCP/IP transport protocol, so it is not compatible with traditional FTP apps.  If you require legacy support, consider our HyperGate product for use with standard web browsers and servers.

Do you have a solution for transferring only changed files?
